The Periwinkle flower reminds me of my childhood. We lived on a hill and we needed a plant to cover the clay ground and Periwinkle was great for this. It also reminds me of Abbey Drive on Tresco where this can be found at various points along the way. When on holiday we would cycle down this wooded drive to collect fresh milk from the dairy each day.
In the language of flowers the periwinkie was used to symbolise a beautiful blossoming friendship or the recollection of a pleasant memory from the past.
The beautiful simplicty of the flower is complimented by its rich colour which is sure to enhance any outfit.
By taking a high resolution photograph the detail of the flower is evident in the final pendant handmade by me.
